On the eve of the 141st Preakness weekend I am still deciding what to wear! This weekend is truly one of my top 5 weekends of the year and I start planning for it in February!!! My husband just laughs at me…As much as I plan ahead for my outfits I still have four options that I am deciding between…luckily I will use two of them! I of course love getting dressed up but more than that I love how alive the city of Baltimore becomes. Its a non stop weekend starting Friday with Black Eye Susan Day where the fillies race (black eyed susans are the state flower of Maryland and the signature drink of Preakness), followed by a Pre-Preakness party Friday evening, Preakness on Saturday and concluding with Sunday brunch! This weekend tends to be a bit costly with tickets, food/drinks and……the outfits! I try to use some items I already own and incorporate them with a few new pieces. I was searching online and found this Keepsake the Label one shoulder floral mini dress (also available in blue) and thought it might match perfectly to a pair of plum Jessica Simpson heels that I wore to a wedding several years ago. Sure enough they did! I added a couple coordinating bracelets that I too already owned…one of those being the purple Emmie from Everistta.
