Dressing up as Captain Obvious for a moment just to remind you that Halloween is ONLY THREE DAYS AWAY!!!!! I imagine your costumes are steamed and ready, pumpkins are by the door overflowing with candy treats, and you are snuggled on the couch enjoying a pumpkin spice latte while reading this post… NOT! It’s probably more like trying to convince your significant other to dress up, waiting for your kids to decide what they want to be, contemplating wearing last years costumes, and praying you find time to pick up the candy before Wednesday night. If this is you, I promise that you are in good company! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I may or may not be thinking about costume ideas year round. But I can definitely relate to certain occasions coming up quick and not being at all prepared (So much so, that I am few wedding and birthday presents behind this year).
I know October is known for being a spooky month but dang it really snuck up on us! (Haha, see what I did there?!). But, believe it or not, you still have plenty of time to get costumes before Wednesday, thanks to Amazon Prime! Whether you are a trick-or-treater of one or it’s a family affair, there are plenty of costumes still available. Here’s a few that we are considering and why I love them so much!
There’s something about the Ancient Gods & Goddesses, Roman Warriors, Spartans and Gladiators that I just love. Last year, I was able to find the most adorable infant Gladiator costume on Amazon for Kade. Which worked out perfectly because we still had Spencer’s Roman Solider costume from years prior. And to match I ordered a Roman Empress Costume for myself and we were a little Roman/Gladiator family. Kade was 8 months old last Halloween and I ordered the 6-12 months size which was a bit big on him and that same infant costume fits him perfectly now. If the temperatures are warm on Wednesday night these costumes just might be on repeat!
While pulling out our Roman costumes I stumbled upon a bunch of other Halloween costumes. And, since we were Gladiators last year I’ve been contemplating coming up with a different idea for this Halloween. Deep in our costume bin I found a brand new Pocahontas {linked similar} costume which I immediately tried on. It fit great, a little sexy but not scandalous. Naturally, I searched Amazon hoping to find men and baby boy costumes to compliment it and what I found was SO cute!!! I literally laughed out loud when I saw it… the brightest, happiest, little turkey costume I ever did see. It is so stinkin cute! Immediately, I thought of a Thanksgiving theme and all I needed was a Pilgrim. This costume theme is by far my most favorite!! One thing is for sure, I am going to gobble this turkey right up!
In my little Halloween treasure chest I also found a classic… I had saved a Dorothy costume from a long time ago! Building off of that, I found a great Scarecrow outfit for Spencer. And just when I think that Kade can’t get any cuter (is my bias showing) hehe) I put him in this adorable Lion costume and the bar has been raised once again! We stopped at the sunflower fields (a.k.a. our sudo yellow brick road) for some quick pics and since it had rained, Dorothy swapped out her ruby slippers for some ruby Hunter boots instead.
These are just a few costumes I love! Besides Gladiators, Thanksgiving and Wizard of Oz my other favorite Halloween costume themes include: Flintstones, Sweet Treats, The Incredibles, Crayons, Beauty & The Beast, Star Wars, and Pirates. What’s great about all of these costume ideas is that they work for anyone! Each theme has costumes for Men, Women, Children and Babies as well as Male and Female options. I have added all that you see here plus a bunch more in my Amazon shop! Take a look and rest assured you still have a little time to be prepared and super festive for when the Trick or Treating begins on Wednesday. Be sure to tag me in your Halloween costume pics, I’d love to see what great costumes you all are wearing!
Huge thank you to Meg from Maewood Photography for all of these adorable Halloween Photos!
