Taking a Leap of Faith

“LIFE IS FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES AND YOU CAN’T GET WHERE YOU WANT TO GO IF YOU STAY IN THE SAME PLACE.”

WE DID IT!

This year has been a year of big changes and big decisions! From taking a six week sabbatical in New Zealand and Australia to starting our own businesses. And here we are again making yet another HUGE life changing decision. We are taking a leap of faith and have decided to SELL OUR HOUSE!

Some of you will call us dream chasers, others will call us risk takers and most of you will call us crazy!

WHY? Because we don’t have all the next steps planned out!  We have learned that we are really good at talking about what we want out of life.  And we are also really good at over-analyzing those thoughts, ideas, and plans to the point of not taking any action on them.  Sometimes you just have to jump…so we’re taking a leap of faith to put ourselves in the best position to succeed in reaching our goals.

DREAM HOME

We built our Ryan Home in 2012, the year we were married, knowing this would not be our forever home. Our ideal forever home is a custom designed modern farmhouse sitting nicely on 10-20 acres with rolling hills for Kade to have 4-wheelers, a serene poolscape for entertaining, a long driveway lined with magnolias or cherry blossoms and forests surrounding our property for privacy.

When we will have this home? Honestly, I’m not sure yet. But I know we’ll never have it unless we start taking steps toward it!

HOME TOUR

Over the past seven years we have done a lot to our house to make it a home. The first of many projects was to convert the fourth bedroom off the master to a custom closet. With the help of Cornerstone Closets we did just that! Then Spencer and I designed and built (with the help of my parents) a full stone wall with vertical reclaimed wood beams and mantle. Since our morning room housed a ten person table, we found little need for a formal dining room. So instead, we turned it into a fun entertaining space to eat, drink and play games. Spencer designed and built the entire bar wall to include hidden led lights on each shelf. Our most recent project was adding on a large patio complete with fire ring and hidden lighting.

BITTER SWEET

Sure it will be bitter sweet leaving our house. This is the house we built, the house our marriage blossomed in, the house we made a home, the house where “we” turned into “three”. But with a little sadness is also a ton of excitement! A new adventure is ahead and as long as Spencer, Kade and I are together we will always be home!

WHAT’S NEXT

Over the past month we (I) have been cleaning, purging and depersonalizing our house to be on the market. We haven’t had much time to actually plan out the next few big decisions… you know, like where are we going to live after we sell our house???? We are definitely ready to switch things up a bit! Even considering another town, city or state… nothing is off the table at this point!

The next few months will be a roller coaster of craziness but I’ll keep you updated on the progress!
