Wow! Easter is early this year! I feel like I just put away all the St. Patty’s decor and now it’s time to decorate for Easter. Thanks to Year Cheer I don’t have to worry too much about the decorations and holiday fun. But what I do need to focus on is our families Easter style. More specifically make some decisions on what beautiful spring Easter dresses to wear!
Lately I’ve been running a bit behind on life, maybe you can relate. We have been going non stop and I really haven’t had a chance to pull together our families Easter outfits. I say families because Easter weekend is a perfect opportunity to capture a few fun family photos. And you know me… I’ll take any chance to snap some family shots! I’ve had my eye on a few beautiful spring Easter dresses and wanted to share them with you too!
Typically, when I style my family clients or my own family I prefer to start with a color palette or print in mind. I then search around for something that catches my eye for the Mom or the kids. Once an outfit had been selected I’ll style the remaining family members based on that look.
This year will be a little unique for my family because it’s the first time we will have Ruko Blu in our Easter family photos. Thankfully I have an extensive bandana collection which comes in handy but I would like to get Kade snd Ruko matching bow ties at some point. I’ll probably wait till Ruko actually looks at the camera though. We have been practicing family of four shots but getting a pup to look in the same general direction as the camera is pretty tough. It’s like having a baby all over again!
Last year we went with a purple theme… I had fallen in love with a hand dyed maxi dress and styled us around that piece. This year I think we’re going gingham. I am a girl weak in the knees for some gorgeous gingham pieces. Plus, I found the cutest blue gingham eared Easter baskets for the boys. So blue gingham it is for us. I ordered a blue gingham dress to match and hoping it arrives in time! Maybe I should order a backup or two just in case.
