It’s that time of year when many of us are experiencing freezing temperatures and possibly snow. However many brands are offering their newest warm weather dresses and swimwear. The reason for this is because many “snowbirds” are heading to warmer climates. Be it for vacations or extended stays they are craving some Vitamin D to thaw out a bit. And of course in search of something spectacular to wear. To which many designers are happy to offer limited releases often coined resort capsules. While I’m currently at Myrtle Beach I was especially inspired to style some local classic coastal resort wear for you!
MADISON MATHEWS
One of my goals this year is to keep supporting and introducing small businesses and brands to you. And whenever possible visit them in person while traveling the country. One of the reasons I was so excited to visit Myrtle Beach and Charleston is because there are so many amazing designers here! You may remember me talking about Madison Mathews throughout the year. They are one of my favorite designers located on King Street in Charleston. I’ve been wearing Madison Mathews pieces for over a year and can’t wait to visit them in person. I love that their designs are bright, fun, eye catching and light weight for when it’s really hot! Plus they are easy to layer and wear all year long! We have some beach family photos coming up with Alyssa Mims Photography and I’ve selected one of the gorgeous Madison Mathews dresses below to wear. Of course I’ll be sharing that with you once we take our photos.
SUSAN ALBRIGHT
In addition I’ll be wearing another local designer Susan Albright for our family photos. Susan is located in Pawleys Island between Myrtle Beach and Charleston. She is an artist who turns her locally inspired drawings into prints for home decor as well as fashion garments. I recently visited Susan’s shop where we had a wonderful time getting to know each other and a “pretty woman” try-on session. Her silhouettes and designs are timeless and truly make you feel amazing when wearing her creations.
