Fall is finally in full swing! If you have young kids, that most likely means you’ll be taking a trip to the local pumpkin patch and/or apple orchard for some festive fall fun! Now that Kade has reached an age where our family activities are a lot more interactive, we are always seeking new experiences for him…preferably ones that allow him to burn off a good bit of his seemingly endless supply of energy! So we recently took a trip out to Gaver Farm to take in their Fall Fun Fest! They have an apple orchard where you can pick your own apples, a pumpkin patch to supply the canvas for crazy Jack-O-Lantern carvings, and an endless list of other activities for kids of all ages…including us big kids! They also have the best apple cider donuts this side of the equator!
Gaver Farm Fall Festival
The farm is HUGE, and as I mentioned, there is so much to do! Thankfully we brought our Veer Cruiser wagon with us! Not only is it Kade’s preferred method of transportation (thank goodness because he’s getting heavy!), it also has plenty of room for Spencer and I to throw our stuff in so we don’t have to carry it. And since the Cruiser is built for just about any terrain, it was a breeze getting it around the varying conditions of the farm grounds. If you venture out to Gaver Farm, and you should, I highly recommend taking some sort of wagon or stroller if you have smaller kids. Between apple picking, pumpkin patching, and all the slides, rides, animals and activities in between, I have no doubt we put several miles on our boots! Before we knew it we had been there for 5 hours! We had such a good time and watching Kade run, laugh, and “WHOOOAA!!” his way through all the fall fun was more than worth the trip. Its amazing how young you feel when you watch the world through the eyes of a nineteen month old kid! And the fact that he napped the whole way home was a nice bonus!
