Knowing how much I love fashion my Mom shared with me one of her mother’s (my grandmother’s) vintage caftans from the seventies. Most caftans are long loose fitting dresses with sleeves and cut straight to the floor like a longer version of a tunic. They tend to be designed with vibrant prints, colors and patterns. My grandmother’s fits this description perfectly and evening has a little extra ruffle fabric down each side. It really meant a lot to my Mom and to me to be able to wear a piece of my family’s fashion history while getting ready to add another generation to our family. After spending the afternoon in my grandmother’s dress it got me thinking about taking a vacation. Caftans are perfect spring/summer dresses and also work great for beach cover-ups. I was hoping to take a beach or island babymoon but we had to postpone due to the Zika virus. SO….I am crossing my fingers and my toes hoping that our little guy is a pretty good baby so we can jet set as a family to some place warm and tropical in May!!! In preparation for our “possible” trip I started looking at this years selection of caftans and wanted to share some of my favorites!
