Stylish Designer Inspired Dupes

Designer and Dupe Maxi Dresses

Recently I had a styling client looking for a dress for her cousin’s wedding. She showed me a picture of a beautiful designer dress and asked if I could style something similar that wasn’t $900!!! Naturally, I accepted the challenge which sent me down a wonderful rabbit hole of creating incredibly affordable and stylish designer inspired dupes.

Once I started, I couldn’t stop! I was so surprised by the incredible replicas I was styling for a fraction of the price! And I mean fraction! You’ll see below seven-hundred-dollar designer dress compared to their less than one-hundred-dollar dupes!

I know the feeling oh to well of falling in love with that designer piece but being on a budget. In my early twenties I went on a designer binger and quickly realized that wasn’t sustainable. To get my shopping under to control I had to go on a budget, and I’ve been on one ever since!

The word “budget” has such a negative connotation. Now that I have matured, I prefer to look at the word “budget” in a positive manner. Like being proud I’ve made a conscious decision to be financially responsible. As well as looking at it as a challenge to see how creative I can be in stretching our budget dollars.

That’s what this week’s blog post is so exciting. You have been challenging me to continually come up with budget friendly looks which is why I am a super excited to share these stylish designer inspired dupes with you! The dress you’ll see me personally style below is the Zimmermann Mae Floral Maxi dupe from James Asher, a sweet southern boutique.
