The holiday shopping landscape has certainly changed over the past few years. When I think back to my childhood, Black Friday was known as the biggest shopping day of the year. It traditionally meant retail stores would open at 5am and offer steep door-buster discounts throughout the day.  A few years later, the e-commerce domination created cyber Monday.  Similar in approach, online retail business would offer enticing discounts. And now retail stores and websites offer discounts all week long and even open on Thanksgiving evening. It’s really turned Christmas shopping into a game of Russian Roulette. You really have to strategize and do your research. Read the fine print on digital discounters and mailers to help you decide when and where to purchase. For the past couple of years I find myself contemplating… do I buy now on a Wednesday or will they be offering s greater discount on Friday and/or Monday?? If I wait to purchase for a better sale, am I then at risk of the item(s) selling out? Normally I would be a bit more stressed about this predicament however I’m just not prepared enough to get caught up in it. I don’t have a Christmas list for my family, I don’t have anything specific in mind expect new Freshly Picked Moccasins for Kade, and I have no idea what I would like for Christmas. On top of all that I will be traveling all day on Cyber Monday so I’ll have little to no chance of taking advantage of those sales. Hopefully I can spare a few hours to work on a couple Christmas Lists and tiny shopping strategy.
