Honest Review of Chicwish Styles

Chicwish Honest Review

Style request these days have been pretty consistent. You’re looking for affordable fashion without sacrificing quality! And I completely agree! Which is why I thought I would kick off 2022 with my honest review of Chicwish styles.

I first was introduced to retro indie brand Chicwish several years ago. It seemed their styles were popping up all over on well-known fashion bloggers. To which I was then served numerous ads online and through social media.

Like many I too was apprehensive to order from an overseas brand. Wondering if the items would be good quality, arrive as pictured, possibly have an odor or even arrive at all. But after much deliberation I finally placed an order and continued to do so ever since!

Overall Chicwish styles continue to meet or exceed my expectations. I’ve been extremely impressed with their styles, quality and price! On the rare occasion an item isn’t exactly what I thought it hasn’t been a huge miss. Usually it is something minor which can be looked past or modified. My common mistake in ordering is sizing. I’m typically on the border of a size small or medium and feel more comfortable sizing up. However with some of the Chicwish styles I could have often ordered the small. The reviews are usually very helpful, I just get nervous and always think I can make a garment smaller but I can’t make it bigger!

In preparation for this blog post I selected the below pieces to style throughout the past two months. You may have seen a few of these pieces featured in the Look of the Day series, my Instagram and my LTK shop.

NEUTRALS

At the first of the year we had a few family photo sessions where I styled the camel chunky knit cardigan and Knit Spliced Long Sleeve Maxi. Both of these pieces styled beautifully together as well as on their own. The cardigan is well worth the cost! It’s extremely thick, very soft and keeps you warm. While the Knit Spliced maxi dress is also very soft, it styles nicely around your curves and very comfortable. I did decide to accessorize my look and accentuate my waist by adding a belt for our family pictures. When taking family pictures with extended family members I find it best to stay in neutrals that way multiple colors can coordinate we’ll together.

DATE NIGHT, VALENTINE’S, GALENTINE’S DAY

Valentine’s Day was also upcoming at the time and is always a busy styling time for me to share date night looks. I selected a couple of black and red items in some standout silhouettes and shared an entire blog post mix and matching these pieces.

Both of the black knit tops are beautifully eye catching and soft. The are however on the shorter side in the waist area. I was able to tuck them in with high waisted skirts but with regular or low rise pants it would be difficult to tuck them. The feminine bubble sleeves and chiffon bow are two of my favorite details! The Love Me More tulle skirt is another show stopper! If you love tulle this one is amazing and the price is incredible for the layers upon layers of tulle! It also comes in blush too! The Heart Patchwork Sweatshirt and Sweet Your Heart red bow skirt was a really cute look. I loved styling those with sneakers and turning the look a bit more casual in a flirty kind of way. One thing to note is the heart patchwork sweatshirt is an interesting length… at least on me. It is not quit a 3/4 sleeve, rather longer but also isn’t a normal length sleeve.

DRESSES, DRESSES, & MORE DRESSES!

With warm temps, resort vacations and spring break around the corner I thought I’d select a few fun dresses to style. Plus my family has been trying to find warm weather in the South Carolina, Georgia and Florida areas. My first selection was this beautiful Rainbow Candies Striped maxi dress. It was the perfect dress to sightseeing and shopping through Charleston. I’m wearing a medium, (which I often do) but could have gone with a small here. The bust area runs on the larger side. And the material is breathable and comfortable for those warm spring and summer days. Of course if it’s chilly you could add a wrap or sweater. You’ll notice the other two are long sleeve dresses. In the winter to spring transitional months long sleeve dresses are a great way to embrace new spring colors and styles but also keep warm! I fell in love the the button and lace detailing on the Floral Print Crochet chiffon dress. And of course the tiered ruffle bottom too! I styled this dress for a Texas rodeo and could see it styled with heels and hair scarf for brunch, showers and girls day out.

This time I saved my most favorite piece for last and it has a bit of a surprise! The yellow floral print dress is actually a wrap top and maxi skirt set! Two piece sets are one of my fashion love languages and I’ll probably wear them forever!!! What is especially nice about two-piece sets is that you can and should absolutely wear them together but you can also mix-n-match with other tops and bottoms essentially giving you three looks! This specific set is versatile pairing the high waisted maxi skirt and wrap top together to cover all of your skin if you chose. But it also gives you the flexibility to show a little skin if you prefer that look.

FINAL THOUGHTS

A few final things I wanted to share is that I’m wearing a size medium for all the Chicwish pieces you see above. When you shop with Chicwish be sure to check out their promo codes as they usually discount codes and free shipping/returns. Shipments tend to arrive pretty quick but remember they are coming from overseas so if you need a particular item on a tight deadline definitely keep that in mind.

As always I would love to hear from you! Please let me know what styled you are loving or things you would like to see me style for you in the future! Till next week stay stylish and have fun!!
