Sunday Funday at About Faces

BEST BALTIMORE SALON + SPA

A few weekends back I had a wonderful opportunity to host a Sunday Funday at About Faces Salon & Spa. If you are not familiar with About Faces, they are a Baltimore staple! Locally owned and operated, they have 6 locations around the Maryland area and participate in several events throughout the year giving back to our community.

About Faces has been one’s of Baltimore’s Best salons for over twenty years. I was introduced to them during my high school years and have been going there ever since. They provide an array of services from haircuts to makeovers, lash tinting to couples massages, mani/pedis to facials and so much more!

GRATEFUL FOR COMMUNITY

Through Shoptini I have been extremely fortunate to cultivate a wonderful community and work with a lot of amazing businesses. Appreciating my community more than words can say I knew I wanted to do more and truly enjoy get to know you! We communicate regularly and I know some of you in person, but the majority of my insta family I have never met! That really had me thinking about ways to meet and thank you for being such a big part of my journey. I was looking for a way to create meaningful experiences where we can meet in person, get to know each other, and enjoy great conversation, all while having fun at some of my favorite Baltimore places!

SIPS WITH SHOPTINI

This is when I came up with the idea of Sips with Shoptini. Each month is a little different, but basically, I host a monthly event called “Sips with Shoptini” and invite a handful of you to join me. It’s typically no more than 6 of us so the groups are intimate. We are usually meeting each other for the first time, but feel like we have known each other forever!

GIRLS SPA DAY IN TOWSON

For this month’s Sips with Shoptini, we headed to a Sunday Funday at About Faces Salon & Spa. Three local ladies Melissa, owner of Mint + Major, Michelle creator of Cronically Blonde blog and Erin, founder of Ecletters, joined me for a lovely afternoon of champagne sips, light snacks, and mani/pedis.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and brought to their women’s changing room to store our items in lockers and slip into comfy robes. The girls and I then joined each other in a serene sitting room. There we found a cute table for four already for us with healthy snacks, champagne bottles, and gifts bags! We arrived early enough so that we could really enjoy time together and get to know each other more. We chatted for over an hour before heading to our spa appointments.

About Faces and I chose the Towson location (inside Kenilworth Mall) because they had they perfect set up for us to have a private area for our Sunday Funday Girls Day. We started with our nail color selection and then headed to pedicures. I decided to try something a little different. I went with 5 Shades of Blue for my nails and one shade of blue on my toes.

MANI / PEDI TIME

The room fit us perfectly…. four pedicure chairs for the four of us! There we continued to chat, sip champagne and nibble on sweet treats. After our pedicures, we went just around the corner to another intimate area with four manicure tables. The spa technicians were wonderful and extremely pleasant! And they glammed us up good! All of our nails looked picture perfect!

After our services, we headed back to the sitting room. The wonderful About Face staff greeted us with refreshed snacks, waters, and of course more champagne! We laughed, we chatted, we shared stories about life and truly had the most wonderful Sunday! I know I left that day feeling relaxed and totally loving my fresh paint. I’m pretty sure the girls did too! Well, I know Melissa did because she stayed a bit longer for a massage! Great thinking on her part and something I’ll remember for the next time!

PLAN A SPA DAY FOR YOUR FRIENDS

If you are looking for a fun date with your girlfriends, or maybe your Mom and sister, considering heading to About Faces! They host intimate spa parties regularly and truly know how to make you feel special!
