We are still laughing and reminiscing about our vacation two weeks ago! I truly can’t put into words how therapeutic our trip was for my family. So much so that we are already trying to plan another getaway!
I must admit it was pretty chaotic leading up to our trip due to a variety of projects I had just days before we left. But, I did my best to make sure we (Kade and I) had everything we needed for a stylish week in Cancun! Surprisingly, with the little amount of time, I did pretty well for both of us. Partially thanks to some amazing brands Venus , ChicWish, Under Armour and Tessora who were able to help make sure some items I was hoping to wear arrived in time!

Kade and I each used almost every outfit I packed for us because I packed with a purpose. I was intentionally aware of what we would be doing and what we needed each day. The weather was going to be mid to high 80’s sunny, cloudy and high chance of rain some days. We also knew we weren’t going to leave the resort on this trip so our days would be spent at the beach or pool area. Knowing that, I planned for Kade to have four outfits per day with a few extras just in case. He was going to need a morning outfit, swim wear, evening attire and PJs. For myself I packed three outfits a day; bathing suit & cover up, evening attire and PJs. I literally packed our bags with specific outfits per day (coordinating when we could) and was able to bring only one bag for myself and one for Kade. That’s almost unheard of for me, especially since we were there for a week!
If you haven’t been to Cancun or Mexico before, it tends to be pretty warm. Years ago we honeymooned in Riviera Miya in April and this adventure to Cancun was our second trip to Mexico. Both times were warm to hot, however September is their rainy season. We got rain on two mornings that lasted into the afternoon, but fortunately it cleared up for the evening. If you are thinking about visiting, I highly recommend doing research on everything, the time of year, all of the resort options, and things to do! We stayed at the Iberostar and had a wonderful experience!
